Awards Program

Volunteers play a very important role for the continued development to raise the quality of live within our community. It is my goal, together with the help of all volunteers to build diverse, vibrant communities that are safe, caring and socially, culturally and economically strong.   

Within our own core of volunteers, we host special events to celebrate and honor the volunteers within our community.  

The government of Ontario has also set up three distinct programs to make sure that volunteers receive the recognition they deserve. 


1 Ontario Volunteer Service Awards

Recognizing continuous service for youths (under the age of 24) having two or more years of continuous service and adults for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30+, 40+ and 50+ years of continuous service.


2 Outstanding Achievement Awards
Presented to up to 20 individuals, groups and businesses that have made exceptional contributions to their communities


3 Ontario Medal for young Volunteers
Recognizes 10 young volunteers between the ages of 15 and 24 who have made a difference to their communities.

Note:  In order to recognize these citizens for their service and dedicated commitment, nomination forms must be submitted no later than April 8, 2006C.   Nomination forms are also available through the Community Action Centre.
