What to do before visiting us at the Community Action Centre:  

It is important that you are prepared when you contact our Centre so that we can serve you better.  Here are some useful hints which will help us help you more efficiently:

  • Bring all official documents and I.D. numbers where applicable. 
  • Let us know if you need to communicate with us in a language other than English.  We have established relationships with residents within our community who can provide translation services on a volunteer basis.  We will coordinate your visit to make sure they are available to come to our Centre.
  • If you are wondering if we can help, here are some of the issues we deal with daily:
    • Anniversary, birthday and special event scroll • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
    • Assistance for individuals who are ‘disabled
    • Assistance for students in college, university or an accredited post-secondary school
    • Birth, death and marriage certificates
    • Family Responsibility Office (FRO)
    • Health Cards and OHIP matters
    • Issues related to court directed family/child support payments
    • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
    • Ontario Student Assistance program (OSAP)
    • Special program that subsidizes drug costs
    • Trillium Health Program
    • Workplace related injuries and claims

Regardless of the type of help you require, my staff and I are ready to listen and we will do our utmost to secure the assistance you require.   

Please Note:  When you visit our office, you will be required to sign a disclaimer document This will allow our staff to disclose your personal information when working with outside sources to deal with your concerns. Without this document, we cannot proceed on your behalf.
